Getting started
Install Supermac, learn the launcher hotkey, and get every permission right.
What you need
A Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and a Supermac license.
Download
- Right after purchase you get an email with your license key and download link.
- You can also download Supermac any time from the customer portal.
Install
- Open the downloaded Supermac disk image and drag Supermac into your Applications folder.
- Open Supermac from Applications. If macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet, confirm that you want to open it.
- Paste the license key from your purchase email when the activation window opens. Supermac needs the Mac online while it verifies the key.
The launcher hotkey
One shortcut opens Supermac, from anywhere on your Mac. Press it and the search field appears: apps, math, emoji and window snapping all answer from the same field.
The first time you launch Supermac you can pick the shortcut that fits your workflow, and you can change it any time in Supermac's settings.
First launch
- Press your Supermac shortcut and type the name of an app to open it.
- Type a sum to get the answer inline, or an emoji name to insert it where you were typing.
- Type a layout — left half, right third, corner — to snap the window you are using.
Permissions macOS asks for
Supermac controls parts of your Mac — windows, screen capture — when you ask it to. macOS asks you to approve this kind of access the first time a feature needs it. Click Allow when it asks.
You can review or change these choices any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security. The permissions guide lists every access Supermac can ask for, and what each one enables.
